Versawall is Adbri's workhorse DIY retaining block for garden terraces, raised beds, planter boxes, fire pits and boundary retaining up to 800mm. Because it stacks dead vertical rather than stepping back, it suits tight courtyards and side setbacks where a battered wall would eat into the garden. The split face gives a heavy, natural rock appearance at a fraction of the cost of stonework. Above 800mm it becomes an engineered wall - core filled with no-fines concrete to a maximum of 1400mm.

Wall height and approvals

Adbri publishes a maximum unreinforced height of 800mm plus cap (4 courses), or 1400mm plus cap when engineered and core filled with no-fines concrete. Adbri advises checking your local council's requirements for any retaining wall over 800mm. Any surcharge above the wall - a driveway, vehicle, structure or pool - or sloping ground behind it, needs an engineer.
