Build them in as a full-height vertical joint every 6-8 metres (confirm the spacing with your engineer), alternating the full 20.09 with the half 20.10 each course, then rake and seal the joint. The wall still holds together sideways - it just moves cleanly at the joint instead of cracking randomly.
