The channel block arrives with a continuous groove already formed along the top, so a course of them gives you a ready-made trough for horizontal reinforcing steel and concrete fill without knocking out any webs. Use it for bond beam courses, for the top course of a reinforced wall, over short openings, and to run conduit or services horizontally inside the wall. It's the fastest of the reinforcement shapes to lay. If you need to hold wet concrete over an open span, use the closed-base 15.12 lintel instead.
