What's the difference between a Besser® block and designer masonry?

Besser® blocks are the standard structural concrete block, used for core-filled and reinforced walls where strength matters most. Designer masonry blocks come in architectural finishes like split-face, honed or shotblasted, chosen for feature walls where the look is on display.

Do blocks need to be core filled and reinforced?

Structural walls generally do, with the cores filled with concrete and reinforced with steel to meet engineering requirements. Feature or facing walls often don't need the same reinforcement.

Can I use designer masonry blocks outdoors?

Yes, they're manufactured for exterior use and hold up well in Australian conditions, making them a popular choice for feature walls, fencing and facades.
